We have now closed the Family Beyond the Binary survey, and we are delighted to have reached our recruitment goal of 200 non-binary participants in the UK. Thank you very much to everyone who filled in or shared the survey, we are so grateful for your support.
Our Aim
This 3-year, multi method research project aims to explore the expectations and experiences of family amongst non-binary individuals in the UK. The study will focus on different kinds of families (including biological, legal and chosen families), and addresses a gap in the literature. Overall, the project aims to contribute to reducing stigma and improving well-being in non-binary communities.
‘Family Beyond the Binary’ is being designed and conducted in collaboration with Gendered Intelligence, the UK’s leading gender diversity charity.
